A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a fire in an apartment block in Santry last night.

Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the apartment building at Temple Court just after 7pm yesterday evening. Dublin Fire Brigade sent seven engines, including a turntable ladder, to the scene.

The building was evacuated as smoke became visible across parts of north Dublin. Firefighters worked to contain the fire, and were able to put it out.

One man, aged in his 30s, had to be rushed from the scene to Beaumont Hospital. His condition is described as serious.

No other injuries were reported. Gardai have now launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí assisted emergency services at the scene of a fire at a residential premises on Temple Court in Santry, Dublin 9, that occurred on the evening of Wednesday 14th May 2025. The building was evacuated and the fire was subsequently extinguished by local fire services.

"A male (aged in his 30s) was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.
